There may be some discrepancy in the definition. I like calling this pattern micro-frontend because it seems very similar to patterns of micro-services that I have been exposed to in the past.
The application does need to be redeployed so the parent application can install the latest version of the packages. For my team, it’s telling Jenkins to rebuild.
